Sometimes I forget, but usually I try to now keep both eyes open...and my left one goes naturally to the viewfinder

i don't use an SLR.. yet.
plus.. my cam's been dead since december. i'm gonna take it to repair it sometime this week.

hmmm which may explain why you're into all that geometry and math with your architectural shots! Left brain is supposed to be more into all that

woaw, actually, I use both eyes for the viewfinder, it really doesn't matter! I prefer though to keep the other one close, except if the subject is moving

left eye, right eye closed... even though dad has said to keep it open to watch your surroundings. I try to keep it open though, but i'm comfortable with it closed. When i'm composing and metering its closed, when im holding the camera waiting for the bird to fly, or someone to walk in front my eyes are open.

Left, right closed.. though with the digicam I mostly use the screen, because the viewfinder is really bad.
